The weekly dispatch- April 21, 2025
Good morning Keys Dems!
I hope everyone had a very Happy Easter and Passover with family and friends. At a time when so many are searching for hope, for healing, for something greater, I’m reminded of what I believe in most: Us.
Our community, shared values, and power to create change together. May this season bring you renewed strength and clarity of purpose.
Thank you to those who joined millions across the country for the Patriots Day Protest on Saturday, April 19th where we swore in solidarity to protect and defend our Constitution! Thank you to the volunteers that kept us out of the streets and kept us all safe. Your presence matters. Moments like these show the strength of our movement and the deep commitment we share.
Historian Heather Cox Richardson offered a powerful warning this week:
“The goal of Project 2025 is literally to destroy modern America—to get rid of education, to get rid of science.”
Many people don’t even know it exists, yet parts of it are already being implemented. We need to raise awareness and connect the dots—loudly and clearly.
In every call, email, and conversation, we must say: Stop Project 2025.
You can read her post here April 18, 2025 (Friday) Tonight... - Heather Cox Richardson | Facebook about Paul Revere. Let's light a lantern and keep it burning.
In Florida Legislative session news...
Originally, SB 7016 was scheduled for a full vote in the Senate this past week, but it was removed from the floor agenda. We must keep up the pressure on our lawmakers. As a priority of Governor DeSantis, we know there is significant pressure for either SB 7016 or HB 1205 to have a final vote in the Senate in the coming days. Call Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez and urge her to vote no on this bill. (850) 487-5040 or you can email her at rodriguez.anamaria.web@flsenate.gov
