Good Morning Keys Dems!

We join with countless others in mourning the victims of the devastating flash floods that struck the Texas Hill Country this weekend. With more than 70 lives lost—including many children—and dozens more still missing, families are enduring a heart‑wrenching time of grief and uncertainty. We applaud how first responders and the community are rushing to help, and we extend our sympathy to families who have lost loved ones.

Rachel Maddow recently said what many of us feel: we are living under authoritarian rule. But what moves her to tears is the commitment she sees from people rising to defend democracy:
“The defining story of our time is whether the American people will stop a would-be dictator.”
Robert Reich puts it plainly:
“There is no middle ground between oligarchy and democracy. One side hoards power and profits off cruelty. The other side — our side — fights for dignity, freedom, and a future where working people can thrive.”
And here’s what gives me hope… We’re not alone.
Millions are rising — 3 million for “Hands Off,” 5 million for “No Kings.”
The spark is lit. The crowd is growing.

We are looking for a few volunteers to help with the work of our Fundraising Committee.  If you are able to help, please email Bert Sise at treasurer@keysdems.com We are planning some great events this year and we need your help!

The texting campaign to registered Monroe County Democrats will be starting soon.  If you are already registered to Vote by Mail, you will be spared a text from us.  If you aren’t already registered to Vote by Mail, we will be gently reminding you to get that done.  Click here to do it now and then share this email with friends and ask them to do the same www.keyselections.org/Voters/Request-Vote-by-Mail

Calling Key West District 4 voters, we need you to sign our petition to recall Commissioner Lissette Carey.
Calling ALL in Key West who want to see her out of office, we need your help to circulate petitions!

All who are interested in signing or circulating petitions should contact us on our website https://recallkeywest.com.  We can get this done, but it will take all of us working together.

Today, July 7th, Senator Ashley Moody's staff will be conducting office hours in the Key West Library, 700 Fleming Street in Key West from 10:00am - 1:00pm. Let them know we do not support Senator Moody’s voting record!
