Weekly Dispatch- May 12th

Barbara Kingsolver once said, "Sometimes the strength of motherhood is greater than natural laws." Their courage and compassion inspire us daily, reminding us that true strength lies in love and perseverance.  I hope all of our Moms had a beautiful Mother’s Day yesterday.  I sure did.  My son and I spent a memorable Mother’s Day in Western North Carolina with my Mom and my brother celebrating his 60th birthday and honoring all the Moms in our family.  Being in the mountains was so good for the soul.

Many thanks to Bert for sending out her Rant and Call for Help on Friday.  I know many of us have missed her rants since I was elected in December.  Thank you to those who have already volunteered their time to help!  We could use more so keep those emails coming letting us know that you are willing to help!!!

In case you missed our own, Dr. Sue Woltanski’s Call to Action… Please visit https://accountabaloney.substack.com/p/call-to-action-before-the-upcoming?r=5kw8bw where she explains how the state’s proposed budget does not add up for our students because the state again funnels more than 70% of taxpayers’ money into private school voucher schemes and underfunds our public schools.  The special session to address the budget begins today!  Call them to demand better for our students!
