We are in our final week of the 2023 Legislative Session.

Among the many bills being debated and voted this week on the floors of the House and Senate, please note that the following high priority bills are included. Others will be scheduled within the next few days. As always, you can follow along by watching the Florida Channel (

  • SB 1718 Immigration -- targets undocumented immigrants; House floor, May 1

  • SM 1382 Department of Defense -- urges Congress to remove DEI practices and training in the military; House floor, May 1

  • SB 1258 Use of Phosphogypsum -- Would allow the use of a radioactive byproduct of phosphate mining (phosphogypsum) in road beds; Senate floor, May 1

  • SB 1616 Public Records/Transportation and Protective Services -- bill that shields DeSantis travel records and expenses; House floor, May 1

  • SB 892 State Minimum Wage -- could potentially strip local governments from controlling wages in their own communities; House floor, May 1

  • SB 1580 Protections of Medical Conscience -- allows discrimination in health care; House floor, May 1

  • SB 540 Local Government Comprehensive Plans -- a state preemption bill that discourages citizen groups from challenging local government comprehensive plans; House floor, May 1

  • SB 1416 Dissolution of Marriage -- bans permanent alimony and may allow modifications of past divorce alimony settlements; House floor, May 1

  • SB 1674 Facility Requirements Based on Sex -- the transgender bathroom ban, Senate floor May 2

  • SB 1320 Child Protection in Public Schools -- the Don't Say "They" Expansion bill; Senate floor, May 2

  • SB 1430 Education -- the education "train" bill; Senate floor, May 2

  • SB 1632 Environmental Protection --  promotes plan to install sewer systems in lieu of septic systems; Senate floor, May 2

  • SB 246 Florida Kidcare Program Eligibility -- raises income threshold to receive Medicaid services in the Florida Kidcare program; Senate floor, May 3
