I encourage you to get vaxxed, not complacent. By complacent, I do mean the virus but also the state of our Democracy. We are proud of the things Team Biden and a DEM-majority Congress have accomplished. What happens next is going to be ugly, from McCarthy’s fight to be the speaker to the promised inquiry re: Hunter Biden’s laptop. The first 2023 prediction from Steve Schmidt of “The Warning” has already come true. “There will be more shootings, and the first one will be on New Year’s Day.” Bingo! Right Here in Florida.I am serious about the need to constantly let our elected officials know how we feel about no permit open carry in Floriduh! It’s insane! For contact info on our state elected officials - https://keysdems.com/elected-officials/Reminder – Our BLOG is up and running, and if you would like to submit something, please send it to – blog@keysdems.comNOW, let’s get back to work!

Local Govt. Meetings this week

Wednesday, January 4

The Key West City Commission will meet at 5 pm in City Hall, 1300 White St., Key West, Fl. For details and agenda, click here: http://keywest.legistar.com/Calendar.aspxKey Westers, I have an assignment for you. The city wants to renovate Mallory Square. A few months back, they took a survey of public opinion, hired a firm to use that info, and came up with two designs. It’s time for you to express your opinion again. Key West Island News, Linda Grist Cunningham, Editor, had a great piece in the Citizen Saturday, or you can read it online, look at the designs and then complete another survey that allows you to vote on what you like and what you don’t like. The city may do a mash-up of the ideas, but now is your chance to have a say. Here is the link to the online article, and you can access the survey from there: https://www.keywestislandnews.com/2022/12/mallory-square-design/
